Job Purpose:
Manage, develop and lead an infrastructure team providing design, implementation and support of the company's internal business and customer facing software and hardware infrastructure. The post holder will also ensure that the services provided deliver to the required SLA, in addition to working as third line support to the existing Service Desk. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end-user help requests using ITIL based methodologies and incident tracking software. Problem resolution is a key part of the role and will involve the use of diagnostic tools to reduce the frequency of incidents. As part of the role you will be responsible for all aspects of the day to day running of the infrastructure including performance, Capacity planning maintenance, receiving and responding to alerts, Systems backup and restore staff scheduling, management and development for the infrastructure team. As the technical expert you will ensure that the infrastructure team follow ITIL best practices, and (working with project managers) implement future infrastructure projects.
Main Responsibilities:
1.Manage outsourcing teams, who manage and operate the IT infrastructure.
2.Some 3rd line hardware and software to support end users at the user level.
3.Develop and then maintain an effective antivirus system (including across all Servers/Notebooks/Desktops) and ensure the network is appropriately equipped to defend itself against virus attack or unauthorised access.
4.Develop and then maintain an agreed system patching policy and processes to ensuring all systems and software identified by the policy are patched and maintained in accordance with the policy.
5.Ensuring that all company network and physical security policies are followed in relation to the infrastructure.
6.Design and Implementation of new infrastructure systems and services.
7.Develop and Maintain infrastructure documentation.
8.Ensure the services' availability and reliability, which align with SLA and QoS.
9.Manage and improve an integrated security solution that helps to protect the IT infrastructure.
10.Participate in procurement, installation, testing and developing IT projects.
11.Develop operations work plan to support all operations activities.
12.Analyse and assess the IT infrastructure and proactively propose and implement enhancements/solutions to meet business requirements, improve performance and reliability, and reduce operation costs, including present and future capacity requirements.
13.Evaluate infrastructure and security proposals and recommend the required solutions that meet the IT and security requirements.
